Due to the amount of spam comments being posted, I have made a change in the way comments are handled. From now on all comments will have to be approved before they are posted on the site. This change will also effect how registration is handled, due to the “robot” registrations. From now on those who register will only be “subscribers” until further participation is approved.

If you would like to become a contributor or author, please subscribe, fill out your profile, and email me a sample article for approval. Once approved you will be able to post your articles at any time.

In unrelated site news: I have eliminated the Authors page so potential participants won’t feel intimidated by the idea that their picture or profile information might be posted for others to see. I realize that some authors may not wish to be so publicly visible and your privacy wishes are important to me. I will be publishing a new privacy policy very soon.

Recently I was asked by a family member if I intended to make this site “fair and balanced”. Instead of replying directly to that individual, I thought I would post a site news update about it for everyone to see.

My first response to that question is that it depends on what YOU perceive to be “fair and balanced”. If you believe that Fox news is a good example of that phrase, then you will be sadly disappointed in my political views because I don’t blindly follow any of the mainstream media outlets. I also don’t believe in the two party system that the matrix would have you think exists. I believe that both parties are a part of the illusion that you live in a democracy and have a choice as to how this country will continue to evolve. They are both controlled by the same benefactors: Special interests, corporate America, the banking cartels, and whomever else helps them buy their way into office.

My second response is to remind you that I have formatted this site the way I have for a reason, to make it easy for others to participate. I could easily have stayed with a strictly html site that only I can update or blog at. It would have been much easier for me to leave it that way rather than learn how to use Wordpress, Stylesheets, and PHP coding. So I have actually gone through a great deal of trouble to make it possible for others to share their opinions.

Well we have came a long way from the original format of the site in the last three weeks. I am getting very close to being finished with updates to the site, and will be getting more time to write articles.

Recent updates include the site counter, the links pages, and the news feeds. I’ll be refining these a little bit as I go, but the pages are basically complete. I still have changes to make to the sidebar as well, but the hardest part is done.

Please take the time to give me some feedback, nothing is set in stone as yet…..

Things are really slipping into place now with Wordpress as a CMS. Most pages seem to be conforming well and those that don’t can be re-planned as time goes by. My beloved iframe is history now, but I suppose it’s about time I grew out of it. Perhaps someday I will add it back when I break up the links page into categories.

Well so far i am enjoying my visit to California. I may not be able to make a lot of updates to the site while here, but I am making some changes to pages and preparing them for upload. I appreciate the feedback from those who have given it, and I also appreciate all the work from my IT guru who has been crucial to the development process.

Will mainly be looking more at a CMS for the site, whether it is Wordpress or Silverlight. Using one of these may lead to easier site management and updates. Using the laptop while on vacation is a good example of why i need to use a CMS, it’s just a matter of which is easiest to operate and learn.

I think I am finally at a stopping point on the links page. There are still several unsorted addons, but for now I am calling it done until more links are suggested or I come across something interesting during my online adventures. I have also been playing with a Word Press blog, trying to get it to either conform to the site, or use it as a CMS. It IS up and running so feel free to send me an email if you would like to blog…..

I’ve been working a lot on the links page this weekend. It is probably the most daunting of tasks so far on this site due to the volume of links I have in my archive. I’ve tried to make it the most comprehensive list that it can be. I have several unsorted links left but I will add them as I update other pages. If you have a link you want to see added, or if you want YOUR link on the front page, feel free to use the contact button.

I’m glad to announce that the Blue Anchor has it’s fist contributing author other than myself. A talented writer who is well versed in economics and politics, Richard Clark. So far I have only uploaded one of his articles, but will soon upload more of his, and mine as well. For now his article opens in its own page due to length, but soon I will be able to integrate it into the site better

The server has now been updated which gives me the ability to install a blog, forum, and an easier way to edit articles that are submitted. I am looking at different options and will hopefully implement one them this weekend. I have a long way to go before calling the site a completed product, including adding links. But things are definitely taking shape. Contact me if you wish to participate or have any comments.

I’ve uploaded and tested several pages and links and everything seems to be working well. Learning a new webpage editor and style sheets has been, and will continue to be, a fun adventure. Soon the format will level out and settle in to a comfortable cruising speed and I will be able to focus more on content. My IT guru is working on upgrading the server, so soon there will be more options pertaining to the format. CSS is great but the site will need other scripts in the future, so I am grateful for his efforts.
